collection,we need a great comp.

It was supposed to be just one hernia,but they found another more severe,+ 2 extra lungs that had to go,& a turnip cart that'd been missing for ages.

The comp is off to a fantastic start with the following approved tracks already-

Any news on how the comp is doing? Any idea of number of downloads?

The best news is the comp did not get hassled by any labels.
The next best news is the numbers (despite the general slowdown in comp downloads) are very good.
Let me just double check my tally...

There's just over 1400 downloads overall.

& the most popular individual track links were
01-DigitallDJ's You've Got To Relax
02-G4Gorilla's Alive & Feeling Suspicious
03-Chocomang's Crazy Dance

Those got significantly higher numbers,
but the rest all did about the same.
The least downloaded track was mARKYbOY's pumpkin shout,
no doubt because of the disturbing mental images the name conjures,lol.

Most people went for the complete files,
with the 296 kbps rate getting the best response
over the also popular 160 kbps.

We could still increase the download numbers if all
contributors would post the comp at their site
& perhaps 2 other places.
From speaking with others who've release mashup comps,our numbers were slightly better
than they reported over a similar period.

I've done some checking on search engines regarding mashup comps
& it appears bootleg recordings are being exempted from some search results.
At least we have our fun,tho',eh?

Crazy Dance has been viewed 810 times on YouTube and 240 on Vimeo which makes a total of 1050 and

Glad to hear,C.It's interesting how you don't get million hits like kitten on a turtle.Is there some form of favoritism among search engines?
Personally,I am happy to know 1800 plus yours enjoyed the release.But,for the sites' sake & all the contributors,I'd like to see numbers like the old days when a summer booty would get around 100,000 between the multiple mirror links required.
I used to post about them to boing boing.net but they don't seem interested in posts about them anymore.It aint the quality of the material,but accessiblity that holds us back.
